1 · Type a legend
Scheme: long vowels ā ī ū (or A I U) · retroflex ṭ ḍ ṇ ṣ (or T D N S) · ś=z · ñ=J · ṅ=G · anusvāra ṃ=M · visarga ḥ=H · Saka dates #146 → 100·40·6. Consonant clusters combine automatically (kṣa, tra, jño…).
“Copy” gives standard Unicode Brahmi — scholarly and portable, but apps without the Kshatrapa Brahmi font fall back to generic shapes, and Word may insert dotted circles ◌ around vowel signs. “Copy for Word” avoids that: it copies font-safe codes that render perfectly in Word with the font installed — no circles. The image options always look right everywhere with nothing installed.
2 · Brahmi keyboard

3 · Get the font (for Word & anywhere else)

Use in Word: 1) download the .ttf and open it, then click Install (Windows) · 2) copy your legend from the Brahmi box above · 3) paste into Word and select the font “Kshatrapa Brahmi”. The combined coin signs (kṣa, tra, jño, śrī, the 200/300 date signs…) are built into the font and travel with the text — but they display only in this font, so keep it selected.
