Punch Marked, Attributed to Surasena Janapada, Silver 1/2 karshapana, 1.76 g, Uniface, Fish left over stylized Lion left, Taurine symbol to left on obverse (P. Anne van't Haaff, Saurashtra Surasena Silver Punchmarked Coinage, Type 2.6.2 this coin illustrated). Very rare.The Fish and Lion facing left is very rare in Surasena. This specimen is the first to be offered in an Indian auction.
