Vijaynagar Empire, Rama Raya, Gold Varaha- Hon, 2.89g, Obv: Lord Venkateshwara standing facing under an archway, Rev: Well-executed Devnagari legend “Shri Pra / tapa Rama / Raya” (Not listed in Mich or Ganesh). About very fine, exceedingly rare. This coin following the design of Venkata Raya II. No other coins of this type are known as yet. The inscription on the reverse is of an exceptional quality as compared to issues preceding and succeeding Rama raya’s reign.
