East India Company Madras Presidency, Gold, 1 Pagoda- Hon, 2.98g, Obv: 7 tired Gopuram of a temple, standing on stone ground, 5 stars on both sides, all this surrounded by buckled garter. Value in English & Persian, all within beaded border, Rev: Figure of Lord Vishnu holding a sword in his left hand & rising from a Lotus flower. Dotted & other symbols on both sides, all surrounded by one circle of beads. All this within a ribbon, the ends separated by a Star. On the ribbon value in Tamil & Telugu. All within a beaded border (P Steven# 3.27). Extremely fine.
