Silver Larin or Tawilah, 4.83g (Unpublished in major sources). Very fine, extremely rare. This is one of the rare and highly unusual varieties of larin coins, which were modelled after currency first issued in Lar, a southern Iranian province, and spread across the wider maritime trade networks of the Western Indian Ocean. Interestingly, the style of engraving is very similar to that seen on issues of European trading companies. It is difficult to say with certainty who issued this variety but chances are that it was either the Dutch or the Portuguese.
