Alamgirpur Silver Rupee, 11.09g, in the name of Muhammad Shah, RY 16. Shroff marks on both sides otherwise very fine, rare. Malwa was conquered and divided by the Peshwa after defeating and killing the Mughal governor Girdhar Bahadur in the battle of Amjhera in 1729. Alamgirpur, present day Vidisha, came under the Peshwa’s control soon afterwards.
