Silver 1/4 Rupee, 2.88g, Madras Mint, Pseudo Mint name Arkat, AH 1172/RY 6, mint mark close Lotus, Counter stamped 1/3 Rixdollar, used at British Colonial Ceylon, deeply toned with a strong punch. Extremely fine, extremely rare. The counter stamp is struck a top on Madras 1/4 Rupee per the proclamation of March 2, 1823.
