
Chindaka Nagas, Someshvaradeva, Gold Gadyana, 3.80g, 33mm, Bracteate repousse Uniface, 7X “Sri Sri Rajabhushana” Kannada legend punches on the periphery, 1X central punch with Tiger-calf crest, Sun and moon symbols above. Tiger and Calf is shown standing facing left on obverse (Reference: Govindraya Prabhu Sanoor, Chindaka Nagas, JONS 162, p. 17). Extremely fine, extremely rare. The Chindaka Nagas founded their kingdom along the river basins of Godavari – Indravathi, also known as Chakrakota mandala. They ruled this region for more than 500 years between 8th and 14th century CE.
