Post Gupta Bengal, Samatata region, BalaBhata, Debased Gold Dinar, 5.60g, Obv: King standing facing right, holding a bow in his left hand and an arrow in his right hand, Bull standard in left field, Brahmi legend “BalaBhata” in two lines below kings left arm “Shri” on top left, Rev: Within circle winged Goddess standing right holding an object in right hand, grabbled legend on right side. Both sides within a circle of large dotted border (ECB# SAM17.1). Very fine, rare. Bala Bhata is the son of Raja Bhata, a Khadga dynasty ruler which ruled the areas of Vanga and Samatata region in Bengal.
