Shuja’a ud-Daula as Nawab Wazeer, Silver Nazarana Rupee, 11.19g, “Haft Kishwar” couplet, Muhammadabad Banaras Mint, in the name of Shah Alam II, AH1183/ RY10, Umbrella as Mint mark on reverse. Patinated, extremely fine, very rare. There are rare ‘Nazarana’-type wide flan coins known for the combination 1183/10 with different mint symbols like a pennant or an umbrella. They appear to be specially struck, at the time a mint license was freshly issued to a new contractor, to show a full due impression of what the mint intended to produce under the tenure of the licensee.
