
Medieval Maharashtra, Probably Early Rashtrakutas, Uninscribed Silver Dramma, 1.15g, Obv: Three-quarters profile bust of a man sporting moustache and a ‘warrior’ hairstyle, Rev: Potbellied Kubera, God of wealth, seated facing on a lotus, flanked by two female attendants (one clearly visible). Patinated, very fine, extremely rare. A rare and unusual type found in North Maharashtra and Khandesh areas, which according to some scholars were the homeland of the Rashtrakutas.
