Vijayanagar Empire, Harihara II, Gold Varaha- Hon, 3.33g, Obv: The warrior running to the right with his right hand raised, Dagger in the rear. Weak strike on the obverse which is usual feature of this type, Rev: Kannada legend “Sri Vira / Pratapa Ha / ri Hara”. Very fine, extremely rare. In 2003, a remarkable find of eight gold Varaha of Sri Prata Harihara came to light for the first time. While isolated pieces have occasionally appeared in auctions, such a well-preserved and comprehensive lot has never been witnessed before.
