Vijaynagar Empire, Ramachandra Deva, Gold Varaha- Hon, 3.39g, Obv: Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi seated facing, Rev: Nandi Nagari legend “…pa Rama / Chandra” in three lines. Extremely fine for type, extremely rare. Ramachandra was a short-lived emperor who ruled just for a few months, when his father Devaraya I died. But the succession went to Vira Vijaya Bukka Raya, the son of Devaraya’s brother, before eventually handing over to Devaraya II.
