Miraj- Murtazabad, Silver Rupee, 11.41g, “Sri Ganapati/ Sri Pantpradhan”, in the name of Shah Alam, RY 2X, Obv: Devanagari legend “Shri Ganapati” above Persian legend, date below, Rev: Devanagari legend “Sri Pantapradhan” above usual Maimanat Manus formula, Mint name Murtazabad below (M&W# T2, KM# 332). Almost complete Mint name on bottom of reverse. Extremely fine, extremely rare. Very popular coin in Maratha series. These coins were struck by Patwardhan’s of Miraj for showing that loyalty towards the Peshwas.
