Sirohi, Tejsinhji, Weighment Silver Medal, 13.84g, Obv: Portrait bust of Tejsinghji facing, around legend “H.H. MAHARAO TEJSINGH JI OF SIROHI”, Rev: Legend “TO COMMEMORATE HIS SILVER WEIGHMENT ON HIS PREMIER VISIT AT ABU ROAD 2nd AUGUST 1946”; below maker's mari ‘V & Co’ between two plain lines (McClenaghan 242). About extremely fine, very rare. Tej Singh succeeded to the gaddi of Sirohi as a three-year old child in 1946, following his adoption by Sarup Singh the late ruler. However, the process of adoption was later investigated and annulled by the government of India in 1950.
