Shilaharas of Sri Sthanaka (Thane), North Konkan, Aparaditya, Silver Dramma, 0.54g, Obv: Garuda, running to right holding a snake, Rev: Devanagari legend “Sri Apa / ra Dita / Deva” in three lines (Not published in major sources). About very fine, extremely rare. Aparaditya’s silver coins are extremely rare - this is probably the third specimen known. Aparaditya or Apararka was an illustrious ruler of the Thane branch of the Shilaharas, well-versed in Dharma shastras. He is credited with writing a critique (Teekā) on the Yajñavalkya Smruti, known as Apararka-teeka.
