Coorg Medal, a soldier wielding a weapon to left and circular legend around on obv, wreath, swords and circular legend, FOR DISTINGUISEHED CONDUCT AND LOYALTY TO THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT, COORG, APRIL 1837 on rev. With a suspender. The medal was awarded to the native troops of India who remained loyal to the British Government during the Canara Rebellion of April 1837. Probably a later striking. About extremely fine, scarce.
