Kongalva chiefs of Kodagu (Coorg), Gold Gadyana, 3.83g, attributed to Prithvi Maharaja, Obv: Tiger seated in profile on a double-dotted plinth, facing a palm-tree laden with fruit; royal umbrella above and a Kalash behind, Rev: Devanagari legend in two lines, partly obliterated because of a die-shift, but RajendraPrithivi fairly legible, unlisted in major publications. Extremely fine, extremely rare. Very few coins of the Kongalva chiefs are in existence – one was published by S. Govindaraya Prabhu. This is perhaps the best preserved specimen known to date.
