Maharathis of Karnataka, Hathi family, Maharathi Mahahathi, Lead. 4.14g, Obv: Elephant standing facing right with tree in railing in his front , Brahmi legend “MaharathisaMahathisa” from clockwise 5 to 12 O’clock, Rev: six arched hill topped by a crescent and surrounded by some other symbols. Very fine, very rare. Coins of the Maharathis of Hathi family were found in excavations at Veerapuram.
