Feudatories of the Chalukyas of Kalyana, Gold Punch marked Gadyana, 3.27g, uniface, with 9 punches, 5x lotus marks, 2x Kannada letter Shri, 1x composite “Ankush-Axe” symbol, 1x Devnagari legend “(Jo)gama”?. ..?”. Extremely fine, very rare. “Jogama” was the name of the first feudatory chief in the line of the Kalachuris of Kalyana. This is probably his issue, struck while he was still a feudatory. His descendent Bijjala dislodged the Chalukyas of Kalyana to start a brief period of Kalachuri hegemony.
