Murtaza II Nizam Shah, Silver Fractional, 1.09g, Nagar Mint, AH992 (not in G&G) Obv: S

Murtaza II Nizam Shah, Silver Fractional, 1.09g, Nagar Mint, AH992 (not in G&G) Obv: Shia version of the Shahada, with ‘Ali Wali Allah’ added to the usual formula, Rev: Arabic legend “Murtaza Zarb Nagar Sanah 992”. Extremely fine, extremely rare. Silver coins of the Nizamshahis are extremely rare. Judging by weights of the known specimens, they appear to be struck on a non-Indian standard, perhaps to facilitate trade with Persia. This is a particularly handsome piece with full AH date visible.
