
Gulshanabad- Nashik, Copper Paisa, 17.67g, in the name of Shah Alam II, Battle axe as a mint mark (Unlisted in Maheshwari & Wiggins). Complete mint name on reverse. Very fine for type, extremely rare. The mint charter given in 1765 to the contractor to run the mint at Nasik (Gulshanabad) does not make a mention of any copper coins being produced there. On this coin, the mint-name 'Gulshanabad' is almost fully visible, with the mark of a battle-axe placed within the 'N' of 'Gulshan'. Similar symbol is also seen on some silver rupees of this mint.
