
Hafiz Rahmat Khan (deputing for Sa'adullah Khan), Silver Rupee, 11.08g, Muradabad Mint, in the name of Shah Alam II, RY 14, English letter 'W' on obverse. Very fine+, very rare. In the second line of obverse legend, there is a curious distinguishing mark which resembles English letter 'W'. The coin is struck towards the end of the Rohilla rule. Two years later, the Rohillas were defeated by a combined army of Awadh and the British, and Muradabad was ceded to Awadh.
