Aurangzeb, Gold Mohur, 11.11g, Mylapore Mint, AH 111X (Not listed in KM). Very fine, exceedingly rare. Mylapore presently part of city of Chennai. It was a occupied by Portuguese in 1523 who established Viceroyalty of "Sao Tome de Meliapor" (Saint Thomas of Mylapore). Portuguese rule lasted until 1749. British East India Company took possession of the settlement in 1749 & was incorporated in to the administration of the Presidency of Madras. The settlement known as "Luz" develops during this period origins from the "Nossa Senhora Da Luz" (Our Lady of Life". Present coin with little cruder call
