Kalyana Manikya (1626-1660), Silver 1/4 Tanka, 2.44g, SE 1548, Obv: Lion to left, date Sake 1548 below inner circle, outer border with big dots, Rev: Bengali Legend ''Sri Sri Yu/ta Kalya/na Devah'' in three lines within normal square (KM# 122, R&B# 207). Very fine+, rare. Kalyana Manikya was not of Royal descent but was appointed King by the Nobles. Mughal invasions of Tripura took place in 1618 after the long gap of Eight Years coins were reintroduced by Kalyana Manikya.
