Sikh?, Copper Paisa, 6.23g, Dehra Raja Mint, in the name of Shah Alam II, AH1203/RY32. Patinated, very fine+, extremely rare. 'Dehra Raja' may be identified with Dehra which is presently known as Dehra Dun. It is possible that a mint operated at Dehra might have been sustained on copper from neighbouring Nepal and Tibet.Who struck this interesting copper coin is a good question. A similar coin in heavier 'Takka' weight, dated AH1209/RY36, was offered at Classical Numismatic Gallery Auction no. 2, lot 151. It showed marks of a pennant on obverse and a dagger on reverse.
