Sangameshwar, Silver Rupee, 11.42g, in the name of Farrukhsiyar, AH (11)28/ RY 5. Very fine+, exceedingly rare. Sangameshwar was an important inland harbour on the Konkan Coast of Maharashtra. A mint was first operated here during the Adil Shahi period and a charter to strike Larins, issued to two goldsmiths has been published but no Adil Shahi Larins are yet known. Rupees and Larins struck in the name of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb have been known and they are extremely rare.
