Vizagapatam, Silver Rupee, 11.04g, in the name of Alamgir II, AH 1213, Mint name poorly written as Machalipattan (Paul S# 5.83). Very fine, extremely rare. Paul Stevens in his catalogue mentioned “the EIC records indicate that a mint was available to the authorities at Vizagapatam at least in 1793, because they asked the Madras Government for permission to recoin part of a batch of rupees they had received.
