Farrukhsiyar, Copper light-weight Dam, 5.86g, Farrukhnagar Mint. Extremely fine for type, extremely rare. These coins struck by Nawabs of Arkat, Mughal Subedars of Carnatic province. The mint-name here was read as Tirchanapalli; however, the ‘shosha’ or the sigmoid curve of the letter ‘Gaaf’ following the word ‘Farrukh’ is clearly evident on the coin. Thus, the mint-name is plausibly read as ‘Farrukhnagar’.
