Timurid, Timur with Mahmud Khan as heir apparent, Silver Dirham- Miri, 1.34g, Samarqand Mint, AH 800, citing Mahmud Khan posthumously (800-803 AH), Obv: Names of Timur, with titles ‘Amir’ and ‘Gurgan’ and Mahmud, as ‘Sultan’, name of Mahmud Khan as ‘Sultan’ above, Timur as ‘Amir’ and ‘Gurgan’ below; Mint-name in centre, Rev: Shahada in two parts, above and below two knotted Arabesque designs, with AH date in words in the centre. Very fine, rare.
