Braj region, Copper Paisa, 5.30g, “Fish” type, Bhuriya Mint, in the name of Shah Alam II, fixed RY 35. Very fine, rare. In the pilgrimage circuit along places associated with life of Shri Krishna in Braj, there was a demand for copper coins of small value for the benefit of pilgrims who would give them away as alms or ritual payments. Many towns produced these coins drawing inspiration in design from earlier official and established currencies in the region.
