The Deshprabhus of Pedne in North Goa were a landed feudal family of considerable fortunes. In early 20th century, Atmaram Vasudeo Deshprabhu, who held the titles of ‘Moce Fidalgo’ and ‘Visconde’ (Viscount) of Pernem, was the chief of the estate.
