Aurangzeb, Silver 1/8 Rupee, 1.29g, “Muhayyi-ud-din” type, Aurangabad Mint, AH 1071. Extremely fine, extremely rare. The types with the emperor’s full name including the laqab ‘Muhiyuddin’ were issued mainly during the early regnal years in mints of Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Burhanpur, Daulatabad, Tatta, Patna and Shahjahanabad. Fractional coins of this type are rare and to encounter a coin with the full AH date visible is remarkable.
