Ancient Deccan, Biface Uninscribed Cast Copper Unit, 6.51g, Taxila type, Obv: Three-arched hill surmounted by crescent, Rev: Open cross symbol. Patinated, extremely fine. These coins were attributed to Taxila due to the fact that similar coins had been found in the excavations. However, in recent years after the contributions of K K Maheshwari who collected them mainly in Hyderabad, their identity as post- Mauryan early uninscribed cast copper series has been established more firmly.
