Indo Greek, Menander I, Silver Drachma, 2.40g, Obv: Diademed bust of king hurling javelin to left, Greek legend in continuous circle “BASILEOS SOTEROS MENANDROU”, Rev: Athena Alkidemos hurling thunderbolt to right, Kharoshthi legend in continuous circle “Maharajasa Tratarasa Menandrasa” around and monogram to the left (BN serie 6C). Very fine. Coins with continuous Greek and Kharoshthi legends are much rarer than other types of Menander where the legends are usually split into two directions along the margin.
