Chalukya / Yadava feudatories in Western Maharashtra, Ekalaveera, Silver Tara, 0.25g, Obv: Garuda facing to left flying with hands held high, Rev: Devanagari legend “Shri Eka / la Veera”. Very fine+, very rare. ‘Ekalaveera’ or lone soldiers were powerful mercenaries who served various dynasties. They were well-known for their bravery and would serve anyone who pays them. The issuer of this coin most likely belonged to a local Shilahara branch in Western Maharashtra.
