Nolambas of Nolambavadi, Uninscribed Gold 1/2 Fanam, 0.17g. Obv: Caparisoned Nandi seated couchant facing right, Sun and Crescent above. Rev: Elephant goad flanked by Sun and Crescent. Extremely fine, Very rare. Nandi was the lanchhana- dynastic emblem of the Nolambas, who thrived as feudatories to the Rashtrakutas in 9th and 10th century AD.
