Punch Marked, Attributed to Shakya Janapada, Silver, Double Karshapna, 6.62g, Uniface, “Lumbine Hoard” type, Bold punch of seven pellets around a circle in the centre; ancillary symbols punched randomly along the wedge-shaped flan ob obverse (Rajgor series 33). Extremely fine, very rare. Suddodhana Father of the Lord Buddha was chief of Shakya’s. Their capital was known as Kapilavastu. Lumbini _ Vana the birth place of the Lord Buddha can be identified with Rummin _ Dei is located around 10 miles to the east of Kapilavastu.
