Commemorative Military Medal, bronze, 42.72g Obv: Soldiers, probably German, manning a Heavy Machinegun, legend “HADSEREG. LOVESZEREM” across the top. Rev: KASSA 1939. Kassa (now Kosice) is a city in present day Slovakia. It was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire prior to World War 1. It became part of Hungary in 1938 by the terms of the First Vienna Award. Hungary was allied with Germany in WW2. Very fine.
