Imperial Cholas, Kulottunga-I, Gold Fanam, 0.41g, Obv: Bow with strung arrow and Tiger seated facing left, Rev: Year 31 in Tamil. Extremely fine, extremely rare. The Chalukya-Chola is a dynasty of amalgamation of the Chalukya and Chola through alliance when the Chola line became defunct. The dynasty took over the Chola kingdom in the year 1070 CE, which would have been otherwise controlled either by the Pallavas or the Pandyas.
