Gwalior, Silver Rupee, 11.27g, in the name of Alamgir II, RY 4, (Not listed in M&W). Very fine, very rare. The fortress of Gwalior, held by Jat Rajas, was captured in 1755 by the Marathas under the command of Vitthal Shivdeo Vinchurkar. It was later transferred to Naro Shankar and remained under Maratha control until the battle of Panipat in 1761.
