Kushan, Kanishka, Copper, 16.93g, “Oado” type, Obv: King stand facing, head to left with long beard, making and offering at a small fire altar, wearing Iranian cap, knee length tunic, trouser and boots hold spear with left hand, Bacterian legend around, Rev: God Oado runs to left, bearded, with windblown spiked hair, wears dhoti and bracelets, both hands raised, tamga to left, Greek legend “OADO” to right (Pieper# 1763). Patinated, extremely fine.
