Trial strike in Lead of a Rupee obverse design, 2.23g, Dated AH 131X, struck during the reign of Mir Mahbub Ali Khan Asaf Jah VI (1869-1911) (KM# TS3). Unique, exceedingly rare. A trial strike of a pattern die made for mint equipment supplied from Birmingham. This design has two distinct divisions of the obverse legend and the AH date is specified only as three digits – the fourth digit would be added as separate number punches as per the change of the year. On the back of this exercise, the mint at Hydearabad produced both hand-struck as well as machine-struck coins rom AH1312 to AH1321 (1894
