Trial strike in Lead of a Rupee reverse design, 3.22g, Dated RY 27, struck during the reign of Mir Mahbub Ali Khan Asaf Jah VI (1869-1911) (KM# TS5). Unique, exceedingly rare. A trial strike of a pattern die made for mint equipment supplied from Birmingham., with the ‘Julus’ formula and mint-name as ‘Farkhanda Bunyad Haidarabad’. On the back of this exercise, the mint at Hydearabad produced both hand-struck as well as machine-struck coins rom AH1312 to AH1321 (1894/95 to 1903/04). Full mechanization was achieved only after 1904.
