Muhammad Shah, Gold 1/8th Mohur, 1.35g, Surat Mint (from mint mark), date and RY off flan, most likely struck under the Nawabs of Surat. Very fine, extremely rare. Fractional issues of later Mughal rulers are extremely rare. They were most likely produced on special orders, to be distributed for specific purposes such as wedding gifts or almsgiving. Some exist in European museum collections where they have been received from 18th century travellers to India.
