Alamgir II, Silver Kalima Rupee, 11.00g, Dar-ul-khilafat Shahjahanabad Mint, AH 1168/ RY 2, Obv: Kalima within a square-area, Rev: Name and title of the ruler within a square-area (KM 464.1). Very fine+, extremely rare. The coin represents the resurrection of the Kalima in Mughal numismatics. The earlier practice of putting the Kalima on the obv of coins was stopped by Aurangzeb under a religious pretext. Silver Rupees of these types are rarer than Gold Mohurs. In Oswal Auction No. 104 Lot No. 454 Gold Mohur of these type sold at 4,05,000/- hammer.
