Guptas, Chandra Gupta II, Gold Dinar, 7.70g, “Lion-Slayer” type, Obv: The king facing right, wears an ornate crown, shoots an arrow to Lion, Brahmi legend “Narendrachandrah Prathitarano Rana Jayatyajayyo Bhuvi Simhavikramah” around, partially visible around, Rev: Nimbate Goddess seated in a “Vamardhaparyanka” pose on a sleeping Lion, holds diadem in right hand and Lotus flower in left hand, Brahmi legend “Simhavikramah” on right (S. Kumar TOTGE 2024: Class III, var. A.2.1). Deep bold strike, about uncirculated, exceedingly rare in this grade.
