Rashtrakutas in Western India, Gunatunga, Silver Dramma, 0.39g, Obv: profile bust of king facing right, Rev: Brahmi legend “Sri Guna Tunga” partly visible. Very fine, very rare. These coins were earlier wrongly attributed to Sankaragana, 6th century Kalachuri king of Mahishmati. Recent reappraisal suggests they are Rashtrakuta silver issues from North-West and North Maharashtra.
