
Post Gupta Bengal, Samatata region, Debased Gold Dinar, 6.27g, Imitating Kushan coins, Obv: King standing facing right, sacrificing over altar and holding trident on left hand, Garuda on top right, (Partially seen), Rev: Stylized representations of the Goddess holding an object in hand, “Ardokhsho”’ crudely engraved on left. Presumably it is a transition period coin showing a combination of both Kushan and Gupta coin features. Both sides within a circle of large dotted border (ECB# SAM1C.2). Very fine, rare.
