Vijayanagar Empire, Anonymous Silver Tara, 0.26g, Obv: Seated Lakshmi Narasimha with Conch and Discus on two sides, Rev: Devnagari legend “Sri Da/lava/yi”, spread across three lines. Vira Narasimha Raya was holding the title Dalawayi before he was appointed to the position of crowned king. The title Dalawayi simply means the Commander-in-chief, the word derived from the Sanskrit word Dalapati. Based on the provenance, the coin could be tentatively assigned to Vira Narasimha Raya. Extremely fine, extremely rare.
